I’d be very interested to hear whether you think they are actually implementing his strategies. The logic of them for their struggle is clear and it seems like they are using his ideas in practice, but where is the proof they are actually deploying his stratagems? Or would such proof be impossible to find?
One of the principal ‘operational arts’ deriving from the work of al-Suri is the concept of ‘nizam la tanzim’ (system, not organization). In brief, this is the concept of promulgation of the global jihadist paradigm through ideological inspiration rather than through a strict hierarchical structured organization. One method of mediation of this is through ‘self-radicalization.’ The Ft. Hood shooter, IMHO, is a perfect example of this.
